Brett Kantor

Brett Kantor joined GFP Real Estate in 2025 as an investment director, focusing on the firm’s property acquisition and capitalization efforts. He also supports GFP’s development and asset management activities.

Brett has more than 15 years of experience in commercial real estate investment and development. Before joining GFP, he was a managing director at Criterion Real Estate Capital, where he sourced, underwrote, closed and asset-managed investments across the capital stack, with an emphasis on structured credit and equity.

Brett began his career on the investments team at The JBG Companies, where he underwrote new investment opportunities and evaluated asset- and portfolio-level recapitalizations. He also served on the company’s Portfolio Management Committee, helping oversee eight opportunity funds with more than 100 active investments.

Brett earned an A.B. with honors in Economics and Public Policy and American Institutions from Brown University. He is an active member of the Brown Real Estate Group and The Dalton School Alumni Association and has been involved with the Municipal Art Society of New York and Project Renewal.
